ALARM TRANSMISSION

No Alarm Transmission during Power Outages   What now ?

TRANSMISSION CHANNELS

Old analog telephony is no longer current, already today practically all offered services are based on internet technology. The change from copper lines to fiber optic requires new solutions.

IP or GSM/GPRS transmission replaces the existing transmission channels like analog telephony and ISDN.

The disadvantage of IP transmission (internet telephony) is that the connection no longer works if there is a power outage, i.e. none of the events during this time are transmitted. This means that alerting is no longer guaranteed.

As this cannot be tolerated when it comes to security systems, an additional alternative channel, a so-called stand-by channel, is necessary and recommended.

SOS Sicherheit AG recommends transmission via two channels, for example IP and GSM/GPRS.

What does this mean for you as the customer?

For new projects or renovations we recommend that already during the planning stage provision is made for an internet connection for the security control unit and an antenna cable to the outside.

Existing systems can be upgraded with an additional transmission device. We will be happy to advise you and clarify the local conditions (internet connection, GSM signal).
